Absolutely. Evergreen Landscapes has become experts on the differences between these two regions. Not only do Burlington and Hamilton differ due to the climates and soil, but there are also large differences in climate for Hamilton. For example, the lower part of Hamilton is in a more sheltered and milder area than on top of the Mountain, which has a shorter growing season. The Hamilton escarpment also greatly affects summer weather, as it traps smog which keeps the downtown region many degrees warmer, particularly at night. We take all these factors into consideration when we design your landscape, ensuring trees, shrubs, and grass are suitable for your area. We will strategically plant trees in windier areas (like around Lake Ontario) to provide wind cover.
Burlington’s landscape is varied as well. You’ll find different soil types and climate near properties that run along Lakeshore road than you would where the Royal Botanical Gardens are located. Meanwhile, properties near Guelph Line will vastly differ as well. Planting the wrong tree, shrub or flower in the wrong type of soil or climate can make that plant susceptible to disease. When we build landscapes, we plant for long term enjoyment. This means if we install trees, we ensure the tree won’t block your windows or view in the years to come.
